Benjamin Bricker

Minister - Music

By the grace of God, Ben was born into a Christian family. His mother and father impressed upon him the importance of scripture and instilled in him a fear of the Lord. By the grace of God, he was given the opportunity to memorize scripture at a weekly children’s program provided by his local church. It was through the word that Ben's eyes would be opened to see that he had offended a great God and that he could do nothing to make right the wrong that he had done, and that he was in great need of a savior. By the gift of God, Ben was saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. He picked up playing music in high school and sought to please men with music rather than the Lord. But by the grace of God, his father asked him “how does your music bring glory to the Lord”. He couldn't answer. By the grace of God, this would become the question Ben could always hear when he played music, “does this glorify the Lord?” If he could answer "no", then he would quit. By the grace of God, Ben has been leading music at Strasburg Baptist Church for almost 10 years. His hope and prayer is that the Lord would be glorified through the singing at Strasburg Baptist Church. The question we seek to be able to answer with a resounding “YES!” Is: “Does this glorify the Lord?” And by the Grace of God, this we will do. “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.” (Psalms 115:1)

Caleb was blessed to be raised by godly Christian parents and introduced to the gospel very early on in church. He came to faith at the age of 7 after hearing Christian testimonies on a radio program called 'Unshackled' and a very simple, direct proclamation of John 8:36:  'If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.' Growing up, Caleb was surrounded by the blessings of family, good books, and clean country air. As a young person, he also developed a passion for music. In the middle of all this, Caleb struggled with doubt and indwelling sin. His sanctification has been a continual process of God pursuing him with His grace and reminding him of Christ's atoning work. By God's grace, Caleb has been blessed to worship regularly with Strasburg Baptist Church.
